5 Emerging Cities for Digital Nomads in 2025
The digital nomad life is not only about the triangle of Bali (as much as I love it:), Chiang Mai and Lisbon. In 2025, there are new cities, lesser known but on the radar of more and more nomads. Some stand out for their low cost of living, others for their improving infrastructure and visa facilities. These are now attracting my attention as well.
In this article, I have compiled 5 cities that have the potential to be “the next place to discover” based on my own observations, experiences, what I have heard from my friends and global trends. And I have added these cities to my own route.
If you want to get out of the classic routes and be one step ahead, this list is for you!
1. Tbilisi, Georgia
Located in the heart of the Caucasus, Tbilisi has been a secret favorite of digital nomads for years, but in 2025 it officially enters the “up-and-comers” list. It stands out for its visa-free extended stay, affordable prices and strong sense of community. When I return from Asia again, it will definitely be my first stop before heading to Latin America.

Why is it rising?
Georgia is one of the few countries where you can stay 365 days without a visa. Tbilisi is a digital nomad base with its historical texture, modern cafes, coworking spaces and fast internet. It's also a bridge between Europe and Asia, making it an advantage in terms of both travel and culture.
Pros
Visa-free stay for up to 1 year
Livable with 700-1,000 USD per month
Socializing is easy thanks to the thriving digital nomad community, especially expat cafes and events
Things to watch out for:
Winters can be harsh and cold (brrrr)
Rents have increased significantly in recent years (I think it's a little bit because of us :)
In summary: If you want to live a budget life in a place where you can escape to Türkiye from time to time without going too far from Europe, and if you like cities with a bit of character, Tbilisi should be on your radar in 2025.
2. Da Nang, Vietnam
On the radar of more and more digital nomads in recent years, Da Nang is a city in the middle of Vietnam that offers a nice balance of beach and city life. You can still think of it as “Bali's quiet cousin”, but much quieter and more affordable. And it really will be one of my favorite places to visit in 2025!
Why is it on the rise?
Da Nang has long been a vacation paradise for Vietnamese. Now it has become a strong alternative for remote workers. The internet infrastructure is good, the city is organized, safe and very clean. If you dream of a city where you can live near the beach and take a walk at the end of the day, this is the place for you.
Pros:
Being a coastal city, it incorporates the sea-sand-sun trio into business life.
Cost of living is still low, especially compared to destinations like Thailand.
Strong coffee culture and friendly locals.
Things to watch out for:
The rainy season can periodically affect daily life.
It offers a culturally very different experience, which can sometimes require an adaptation process.
In summary: If you are looking for a quiet, affordable but high quality city in Asia, Da Nang will be more than enough for you.
3. Bogotá, Colombia
As one of Latin America's rising stars, Bogotá may come as an unexpected surprise to digital nomads. But its cultural richness, growing creative economy and affordable living conditions are sure to attract more people in 2025. It's certainly caught my attention, but I'll be there in 2026 so as not to break my plans.

Why is it on the rise?
Colombia has started to offer an official visa for digital nomads, with relatively affordable annual income requirements. Also, Bogotá is overshadowed by Medellín, but as a larger city it offers more business networking, events and cultural opportunities.
Pros:
One of the largest cultural and economic centers in Latin America.
Good value for money, especially in terms of accommodation and food and drink.
Every day there is something new to discover: street art, museums, markets...
Things to watch out for:
The city is quite high above sea level (2,640 m), which may cause physical adaptation problems for some people in the first days.
There may be security problems in some areas, so the choice of accommodation is important.
In summary: Bogotá is a strong candidate for digital nomads who want to try something different in Latin America. You can easily experience this city by prioritizing safety.
4. Asunción, Paraguay
One of the cities that is not often mentioned in digital nomad routes, but which we will hear more about in 2025: Asunción. The capital of Paraguay stands out for its calm, low cost of living and migrant-friendly policies.
Why is it on the rise?
Paraguay has one of the lowest taxation systems in Latin America. Some digital nomads even choose to take advantage of the tax benefits by becoming official residents. Asunción offers an ideal starting point for this low-cost but high-potential lifestyle.
Pros:
One of the cheapest capitals in Latin America.
Easy residency process and low tax rates.
Quiet, stress-free lifestyle.
Things to watch out for:
Low level of English, knowing basic Spanish makes things easier (gives me an excuse to learn some Spanish too).
Limited cafes and coworking spaces, but on the rise.
In summary: If you are looking for a life away from the crowds and chaos in Latin America, Asunción offers a quiet and budget-friendly alternative.
5. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, one of Asia's most overlooked but most livable cities, is set to become more talked about among digital nomads in 2025. As organized as Singapore but much cheaper, as vibrant as Bangkok but less chaotic. In fact, for those who spend time in Asia, I can definitely say that this is a visa run route, I went twice in 2024 and it looks like I will visit again in 2025 :)

Why is it rising?
Malaysia launched an official visa program for digital nomads in 2022. Kuala Lumpur is the perfect hub for those who want to benefit from this program. With its fast internet, abundant coworking spaces and a diverse mix of cultures, it has already become the “new base” for many nomads.
Pros
Cheap but comfortable living: A great life is possible on a budget of $1,200 - $1,800/month.
Close to both the West and Asia.
Multicultural, tolerant and dynamic city.
Things to watch out for:
Tropical climate: heat + sudden rains
Heavy traffic, especially during peak hours
In summary: If you're looking for a city that's both modern and affordable, Kuala Lumpur is a must-consider in 2025.
Closing: New Roads, New Cities in 2025
Digital nomadism is no longer limited to Bali or Lisbon. 2025 will see the rise of cities that are both more affordable and offer more authentic experiences. The cities I've shared with you in this article are representative of this new era in terms of infrastructure, community, cost of living and inspiring atmosphere.
But remember this: Every nomad has different expectations, energy and lifestyle. So these cities are just a starting point. The important thing is to forge your own path and learn from every place you live.
If you are ready to discover new places, expand your experiences and push your limits, I am waiting for you on NomadVibe's Instagram and YouTube accounts. Because we don't just write about these cities, we live and tell about them. Maybe in the next video, we will include your question or story.
Stay tuned and let's keep exploring together!
And as I always say, until the next post arrivederci folks :)
